Riot Games

Riot Games is a game studio know for it's genre-defining titles like League of Legends and Valorant. They're also a global leader in esports competitions and viewership.

Riot Games acquired Kanga, a startup where I lead design, in 2021.

Note: My role at Riot Games was in R&D under the esports department. For that reason, work available to share is very limited at the moment!

Getting Started

I joined Riot Games in 2021 after the acquisition of Kanga. As a member of the Esports Digital team, I worked on R&D technology and products for improving the esports fan experience.

While I had influence on many parts of the product offering—including navigation, content presentation, Worlds Pick'ems, standings & tournament interfaces, and more—my primary zone of focus was on the watch experience, live stats, live chat, and design system documentation.

My breadth of work included working with engineering, product, and design partners to design solutions for both web, mobile, and smart TV interfaces.

From Kanga to Riot

In the Spring of 2021, myself and the Kanga team approached Riot Games with our product suite looking to partner up to enhance esports livestream experiences for fans. After sharing our pitch of what we wanted to do with their esports APIs, Riot Games saw acquiring our team and technology to be more advantageous!

Later in the Summer, myself and the rest of the Kanga team joined Riot Games to expand their Esports Digital department—doubling the team size overnight!
